Final Murals & Descriptions

Magical Marauders

This design depicts a scene of a crew of pirates on the hunt for some enchanted treasure that is
mischievously being hidden by a mermaid as she watches from afar on her spyglass. The design depicts the adventurous
journey the pirates are on through dynamic motion and a fantastical seascape, creating a fast-paced and
exciting story like the ones that readers may find in the library's works of fiction.

The Realm of Knowledge

Situated above the front desk and central to the room, this mural emphasizes the importance of the library as a sanctuary for reading and learning. The school mascot being the knights, students will be able to recognize themselves in the classical scene of knights in a castle. Though in this tale, the dragon and the knights are able to become friends through their shared love of stories, reading together on a hoard of books rather than gold, showing that knowledge is the most valuable treasure of all.

The History of You

This design is a celebration of various nonfiction subgenres like sports, space, animals and history
depicted through a parade featuring iconic and well-known figures and imagery from each category.

Mossy Tales and Moonlight

This design serves as relaxing imagery for the students at SLE in their reading nook. We wanted to show a
tranquil scene of forest animals in their natural habitat going to bed. The nocturnal animals out in the forest contrast with
the sleeping animals in the burrows of the hill, creating a cozy and safe atmosphere for reading time.

The Hustle and Bustle

This design depicts the life of a community of animals and people in a big city. With little vignettes of small moments like friends having a picnic, shopping at the market, or enjoying a meal sitting at the café. Through vibrant colors and imaginative characters, this design embodies a playful atmosphere that brings joy and wonder to the early readers and visitors who look at it.
